Humayun's Tomb

After his death on 27 January 1556, Humayun's body was first buried in his palace in Purana Quila at Delhi. Thereafter it was taken to Sirhind, in Punjab by Khanjar Beg and, in 1558, it was seen by Humayun's son, the then Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Akbar subsequently visited the tomb in 1571, when it was about to be completed. it cost 1.5 million rupees

INDIA GATE

The 'India Gate' is the national monument of India. It is in New Delhi, India. Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. It was built in 1931.The 42-metre tall India Gate is situated in such a way that many important roads spread out from it. It is built of Red Sandstone and Granite. Originally known as the All India War Memorial, it is a prominent landmark in Delhi and commemorates the 90,000 soldiers of the Indian Army who lost their lives while fighting for the Indian Empire, or more correctly the British Raj in World War I and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. 

Red Fort

Red Fort:   Built by Shahjahan,the builder of  Taj Mahal in Agra.The construction lasted from 1639 to 1648. Architect was Ustad Ahmad Lahori

Gandhi Smriti

Gandhi Smiriti: The Memorial consists of (a) Visual Aspects to perpetuate the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the noble ideals he represented. (b) Educative Aspects to focus concentrated attention on certain values of life that made Gandhi a Mahatma. (c) Service Aspects to introduce activities in order to subserve certain felt needs. On display in the Museum are photographs, sculptures, paintings, frescos, inscriptions on rocks and relics pertaining to the years Mahatma Gandhi spent here. The meagre personal effects of Gandhiji too are carefully preserved.

Bahai Temple

Bahai Temple Situated atop the Kalkaji Hill. Its is also known as "The Lotus Temple" due to its distinctive lotus shaped design in Marble. It was built in 1987 by the followers of Bahai faith. The temple signifies the purity and equality of all religions.

Qutub Minar

Qutub Minar Qutub Minar is an excellent example of Afghan Architecture .The Minar is 72.5 meter high victory tower, the construction of which began in the final year of twelth century by Qutubuddin Aibak and was later completed by his successor.It has been given World Heritage Site status.

CAPITAL OF INDIA

Laxmi Narayan Temple Popularly Known as Birla Mandir, it's a large Hindu Temple built in Orissa style in 1938, by the renowned Birla family. People of all faiths can worship at this temple.  The construction of temple dedicated to Laxmi Narayana started in 1933, built by industrialist and philanthropist, Baldeo Das Birla and his son Jugal Kishore Birla of Birla family,the temple is also known as Birla Temple. The foundation stone of the temple was by Jat Maharaj Udaybhanu Singh.The temple was built under guidance of Pandit Vishwanath Shastri.The concluding ceremony and Yagna was performed by Swami Keshavanandji.The famous temple is accredited to have been inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939. At that time, Mahatma Gandhi kept a condition that the temple would not be restricted to the upper-caste Hindus and people from every caste would be allowed inside.
